Former No. 1 overall pick center Greg Oden and the Miami Heat have agreed to terms on a two-year deal, according to multiple reports. Oden’s deal is worth $1 million for next season and includes a player option for $1.1 million for 2014-15.

SI.com’s Chris Mannix confirmed the reports.

Oden had been showing off his skills for teams the past few weeks. Teams which were looking at him included the Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, according to an ESPN report.

Oden last played an NBA game Dec. 5, 2009, and underwent three microfracture surgeries as recently as February 2012. He was selected with the first overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers back in 2007.

During his brief, injury-riddled career, Oden has averaged 11.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game with the Trail Blazers.

Sure greg will have some ring rust for not playing since '09 and still being injured, but it's shameless the way the heat lowballed him into that 2 year contract. Neither side seems too confident.

I remember when Robinson came out of the Navy to play for Houston.  It will take a couple of years to see if he can even play minor minutes.  It's one thing to show some moves on the court, it's another to take the banging, the stops and starts of an NBA game.

Having Oden on their team gives me a tiny, itty, bitty reason to like the Heat.  If Miami wins another championship at least I can be happy for Oden.  That's 1 more reason than I had the last 2 years that Miami has won.

Best of luck to Oden.  Like most non-bandwagon fans, I can't stand the Heat.    But Oden is a likeable kid who has had a bad streak of injuries.  Here's to hoping he can get his career back on track.

Seems hardly worth it for Oden.  He should have millions in the bank, he will end up a cripple if he keeps trying to play.

Good move all they need is a good 25 minutes a night of 10 points 8 physical rebounds and 2 blocks..at a physical 7 feet  tall they have a counter for Hibbett, Noah, and other bigs. No more easy offensive rebounds...All he has to do is get rebounds and easy dunks from Lebron passes out of double teams...Hate to break it to you haters but if this guy is healthy and can contribute 25 hard minutes a night.....The 3 Peat is done!!

This can turn out to be a great move if he stays healthy. With his height he can help spread the floor for the Heat. It will take a great passer to get Greg's contribution on offense to make an impact. Bring in aka King James the master passer currently in the NBA. Between Oden and Birdman I can easily see an average of 18 to 20 pts between them per game. By January, the verdict should be out on this addition. Thumbs up!

No expectations. If he contributes even a little bit, it's a win. If he breaks down before the playoffs, well, small risk taken. If Oden does contribute even just a bit though... be afraid... be very afraid. Not holding my breath tho.

It's about time, what was he waiting for, Miami provides less pressure and the best chance to win.
Now Riley needs to get a back up plan for Oden by getting rid of scrubs like Jones, Anthony, Varnado and Yes Haslem with a first round pick or two and get Gortat out of Phoenix.  If  Mo Williams comes to south beach that will put a strangle hold on the 3-Peat . People who think Oden is a gamble are idiots , WHY? because Miami had slugs like Dexter Pittman and Eddie Curry on their bench for years, this is just a 2 year deal

One more thing Riley, NO back to back games or 4 games in 5 nights for this guy, playoffs don't play back to back games so why use a guy coming off major issues that way  when you really signed him for the playoff run. And that goes for Wade Too.

@Mr. J I agree with the bulk of what you said, but I think that Oden is good for 10 to 15 minutes per game, maybe slightly more.  And I think you mean the three peat is a done DEAL.

@Mr. J hate to break it to you but beginning minute 26 and MORE will matter. one half won't cut it.

@friendly--neighborhood--scrawler You're delusional. Haslem's rebounds per minute are way above average as is his mid-range jumper. He's the heart and soul of Miami, not just the Heat. UD will never play for another team without HEAT on the front of the jersey.

@Lizard_King I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan, and have been one since 1972.  I've never been  a fan of any other NFL team.

I know Miami loves Haslem and trading him would be asking a lot, Bosh would get traded before Haslem, why i said Haslem for Gortat is because Haslem's salary is the 4th highest on the team with two years to go, his age and it would be a good business move. Being sentimental rarely works when it comes to busines. Bosh is way over paided already why over pay Haslem as well
