Embattled former Auburn running back Michael Dyer has enrolled at Louisville and will play for the school next season, USA Today’s George Schroeder reported Thursday. Fitz Hill, the president of Arkansas Baptist College who has served as Dyer’s mentor, told Schroeder of Dyer’s decision.

According to Schroeder, Dyer is immediately eligible to practice and play.

“He’s excited to have an opportunity to resume his career,” Hill told Schroeder. “Many people doubted that Michael would ever make this comeback, and it’s here.”

Dyer has endured a troubled career that once started off highly promising, when he rushed for 143 yards in Auburn’s 2011 national championship win and earned offensive MVP honors. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards in both of his freshman and sophomore seasons at Auburn.

But trailed by a slew of issues, including violations and troubles with drugs and weapons, Dyer transferred from both Auburn and Arkansas State.

He transferred to Arkansas Baptist University last year, where he did not play football. He graduated last month with an associate’s degree from the school, according to USA Today.

“Based on what he has done at Arkansas Baptist College, I don’t have one negative,” said Hill, his mentor. “I can’t talk about (what happened at) Auburn or Arkansas State, but I can talk about Arkansas Baptist College. It’s been all positive.”

At Louisville, he could potentially form one half of a dynamic duo with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

He is a great back, he could be a huge weapon if he has his head on straight

That's a good team, but I still think even if they run the tables, they shouldn't play for the title over a one loss team from any other AQ conference.

@cry1baby2usa @Huskerstildeath Yeah... there is not a SINGLE team on their schedule that is ranked in the coaches poll.  I don't think you quite grasp how pathetically weak it is.  We are talking about Tulane 1998 undefeated team weak.
