Report: Jets’ Santonio Holmes unsure if he’ll play in 2013
Holmes injured his left foot in Week 4 last season and needed two operations to repair it. When asked if he will even play this season, Holmes didn’t provide many answers.
“I cant answer that question right now,” Holmes said via the New York Daily News. “It’s the first day of training camp. How are you going to answer that question? They don’t know… I had two surgeries. All I can do is rehab right now.”
The team placed him on the active/physically unable to perform list and he could be switched to the reserve/PUP list to start the regular season, which would automatically sideline him for the season’s first six games. The Jets’ season opener is against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 8.
“I want to, but I have to do what the foot says to do,” Holmes said. “If it’s not ready to roll, it’s not ready to roll.”
