The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with telecommunications giant AT&T to rename Cowboys Stadium to AT&T Stadium, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was reportedly seeking more than $25 million annually for the naming rights to the stadium but according to Rovell, Jones received less than $20 million a year from AT&T.

AT&T Stadium opened up four years ago in 2009 and cost $1.1 billion to construct and has played host to Super Bowl XLV. In the coming years, AT&T Stadium will play host to the 2014 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, 2014 and 2015 Cowboys Classic Kickoff games, 2014 NCAA Men’s Final Four and 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Jerry Jones commented on renaming of Cowboys Stadium:

“AT&T is an iconic American leader that has guided the path of communication in the world for more than 100 years,” Jones said in a news release.  “Our stadium has always been about providing fans with an unsurpassed experience in the area of technology. With AT&T, we are growing our relationship with one of the world’s strongest and most innovative companies to ultimately provide fans with the latest cutting-edge technology for many years to come.”

Hard to keep up with these things. I go with "the NFL Stadium in Denver" or "the NHL arena" in wherever.... I think The MLB stadium in Houston is on its 3rd name already.

How many people have ever said "let's go to paul brown stadium and watch the bengals or go to AA arena and see the heat play", or lets go to Lambeau and watch the Pack"? NO ONE, it's lets go watch the pack or whatever team. naming rights are a waste for the fool paying.  ANYONE going to enroll with at&t now?

That really is too bad. Cowboys Stadium has a nice ring to it, whereas AT&T doesn't.

Oh yes, the AT&T crooks. Trying rob each customer a few dollars at a time. You see guys, when they rob you by a few bucks every month they actually make a few more billion are year. If you don't watch your bill like a hawk it will happen every time with them.

I hope this will mean AT&T gets stuck with excessive Romo-ing charges...

@Chris100 Oh clueless tard. Switch to Verizon, T-Mobile, Comcast or any of the other companies providing telecom services if you think AT&T is crooked.

New Yorkers have some pride left, but nothing is sacred in Texas -- except that money and wealth is the only true god. I can't believe there are people still living in Texas that care about such things. Any person with a conscience and the means would've abandoned that rat hole of a state years ago.
