The NFL has suspended Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller four games for violating a league policy, as first reported by Adam Schefter. Schefter reports the suspension is in the appeals process.

Miller, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 draft, is considered the Broncos’ best defensive player and one of the NFL’s best pass rushers, recording 18.5 sacks last season.

The Broncos’ defense was already weakened by the loss of pass rusher Elvis Dumervil to the Ravens in the offseason.

The NFL loving media will push this under the rug.

All aggies are lowlifes.

Seeing how the NFL doesn't do blood testing, I'm still genuinely shocked when an NFL player flunks a drug test.

Do you guys think Von Miller is thankful for Ryan Braun today?  After his suspension no one is going to talk about anything else on ESPN.

not sure why football remains exempt from PED ridicule...baseball lived well until the special records got demolished...football will live well until lives are destroyed #murderers #concussions #violence #arrests

If it was over an ingredient found in an over-the-counter supplement and it was OK'ed by a team doctor then he should be fine.

Better yet, the NFL should have a panel of Doctors on-call 24/7/365 which all the players should be able to contact and ask about specific supplements so the NFL can confer on the matter then approve or deny its use by the player. That way if its permitted by the NFL then the player tests positive for a substance, the player can say that hey YOUR doctors said it was cool. No suspension. This way there's greater control over what is permitted and what isn't...plus it takes away the punishment for the player.

I presume that the violation of league policy has to do with a "vitamin" supplement, cold remedy, or the popular product, THE CLEAR and THE CREAM.

I heard the players and the agent use a trick whenever this happens.  The agents leak the name of the drug knowing full well that it isn't the drug they tested positive for.  That way the player and agent can go out in a press conference and swear over and over again they never used it.  The NFL can't go public and say that it isn't that drug because of the CBA.

Let me guess the same old comment - I didn't do it and if I did I'm sorry.  No matter what you do or say, saying I'm sorry makes it alright in today society.

If these are supposed to be kept out of the press until after their appeal then whoever leaked this to Schefter should be leaked out of the industry.  Digging up dirt on people is getting old.

That is not Von Miller.  Great journalism Tim! Hell I should get a job for si.com

Juice?  Blow?  Adderall?

They should still be able to score enough points and get to the playoffs.

Is it against NFL policy to guarantee a Super Bowl?

As an Aggie, your comment doesn't bother me. Most of us who've earned our degrees (and Masters!) through A&M share a bond unlike most.

We're one of the largest universities in the country...we cheer for our teams like most alumni do, but our greatest pride stems from the strength of the ties that binds all Aggies together. Win or lose, we're all cool. Most of us don't hate Texas or Alabama or LSU...we yell for our teams and hope they do their best, but we don't get our panties in a wad because of a competitor. It's childish.

Take a little advice from this lowlife, son...get off the computer before your mother grounds you from the video games...and best of luck with your first girlfriend!!!

@mystafugee I thought they did do some blood testing, just not any HGH testing.  Though I could be wrong.

@CameraMike I think Ryan Braun got off easy.  He should also suspended for the first 25 games of the 2014 season.  (Also, it is now absolutely clear that his overturned suspension from February was due to a technicality, not innocence).

@JakeFromStateFarm17  How did they want to get around the salary cap...they are a couple of million under right now? And they cut Elvis Dumerville 1 minute before taking a salary cap hit of 12m dollars..seems like they know how the cap works

@Matthew W Krazy - there IS a doctor-approved list available to every agent and player and front office in the league.  Period.  Stop all this other nonsense - it's just excuses.

@Matthew W Why 24/7/365. Just make it timely. Noone needs to rush into taking a supplement.

@sotobean17 Let me guess.  You think that the writer of the article also posts all the ads, creates the links to other articles, and is the designer of the website as well.

@Jerkzilla And lose at home and get ousted in the first round. You know, the Peyton Manning usual choke routine. Throw that INT on crucial moments.

@Mike26 @Loch Fans of the NFL don't really care anyway. A MLB players gets suspended and he's not allowed to walk the streets again. An NFL players gets suspended (always for Aderal for some strange reason! Ya right) and he's back on the field in 4 games like nothing ever happened.
