Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel apologized to his college coaching staff and is being told to be honest about what led to his departure last weekend from the Manning Academy, reports ESPN.com.

Manziel was sent home from the Manning Passing Academy because he missed assigned meetings and practice sessions, apparently due to illness. Manziel, last season’s Heisman Trophy winner, was at the academy, held at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La., as a college coach and counselor.

But there were several reports earlier Sunday that said Manziel was sent home by Archie Manning because of “partying” but camp officials said those reports were not true.

If someone doesn't step in and teach this guy some discipline soon, he's going to become a train wreck.

Dehydration can come from drinking too much. It's also called being hung over.

Either Johnny is apologizing for simply being "dehydrated" (never knew you had to apologize for that) or dad was going into PR mode for his darling son who had too much to drink.  Which is the more likely scenario.  Dad should just keep his mouth shut instead of lying for his son.

What a knucklehead! James Dean's character, Jett Rink, from the movie "Giant", comes to mind.......
