The New York Mets will be hosting the 84th annual All-Star Game on Tuesday and their sensational right-hander pitcher, Matt Harvey, will be taking the mound to start the game for the National League.

According to multiple reports, Harvey has been tabbed by National League All-Star game manager Bruce Bochy as the starter in Tuesday’s All-Star game. The Mets scratched Harvey from a start on Saturday in hopes of showcasing the homegrown right-hander at Citi Field on Tuesday.

Clayton Kershaw, who leads all of baseball with a 1.89 ERA, recently endorsed the idea that Harvey should get the nod in front of the hometown crowd during the All-Star game. Harvey, who boasts the fourth best ERA in the majors, will be formally announced as the starter of the All-Star game later Monday, according to the New York Daily News.

Harvey is 7-2 with a 2.35 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 130 innings for the Mets this season.

Kershaw not starting didnt bother me one bit. He still got to pitch and did his thing so I am a happy fan.

I have no problem with Harvey starting, Kershaw will get his innings also.  I can't understand Capt K, David Wright, hitting clean-up.  That's the shame of it all.

I'd rather see Harper (gag) hit 4th than Wright.  That was really hard to say.

I am a lifelong mets fan and love Harvey. But Kershaw has better numbers and should start
