Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and brother Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey were seen recently wearing a hat that said “Free Hernandez,” and the Steelers plan on talking their center about it, reports

The photos began circulating on the Internet Sunday morning.

The brothers played with former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez at the University of Florida and were with Hernandez at a nightclub in 2007 on the night of a shooting that left two men wounded.

Hernandez is charged with the first-degree murder of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd and is being held in a Massachusetts jail. He was denied bailed and pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also include five weapons charges.

The Steelers are not commenting on the photos, but according to a source they plan to talk to Maurkice Pouncey about the photos. A source close to Mike Pouncey expects the Dolphins to have a similar talk with the team’s starting center.

The Pouncy's mother is a skank and she raised her sons to be illiterates.

His apology tweet is lame but it is up

Why should anyone aspire to "free" hernandez? Is it because he's innocent -- that he didn't possibly murder 3 people ... much less one? Or is it because they played ball with him in college for a couple of years? This is not a freedom of speech issue. The Pouncey(s) represent their franchise(s), and they're promoting  another player who may have committed unspeakable crimes. How about wearing hats that say "Pray for Henandez" --- would that satisfy the first amendment hawks?

I am still trying to figure out why NFL players allow their first amendment rights to be "bargained" away during CBA talks.

Fire him as well from the NFL. Then hopefully law enforcement will investigate both of them. Ex-steelers fan!

They're just "keeping it real".  For me, NFL now stands for "No Fans Left".

They might as well wear hats that say "I'm an idiot."
