The Pro Football Hall of Fame removed a photo of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez celebrating a touchdown from a display after several visitors complained about it, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder in the June 17 shooting death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Hernandez pled not guilty to one count of murder and five gun-related charges.

The 2010 photo of Hernandez scoring a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers was an award-winning photo from the annual Hall of Fame photo contest. HOF officials removed it from a display earlier this week.

“In the spirit of good taste we thought we’d take it down,” said Joe Horrigan, the hall’s vice president of communication and exhibits.

Fans were allowed to exchange their “Hernandez” jerseys for another Patriots’ replica jersey at Gillette Stadium last weekend and more than 1,000 fans showed up and participated.

If customers complain, take the photo down.  That's business.  But why complain?  The event happened and the vote happened.  Use the photo as an opportunity to never forget what he allegedly (lol) did.

So ..........What......

 Hernandez is still living better than Millions of Americans .. if you don't mind the lack of freedom thing, some will say we are losing our freedoms daily on the outside... Heath wise A lot  people would change places with Hernandez, but if this was Texas all bets may be off. What does that say about America, a first world country. A possible triple murderer is living better and possibility healthier than Millions of Americans.  If this guy if found guilty, he better be on ever blood donor, organ donor List that wont kill him and every possible work detail...

Guilty until proven innocent. a few complainers tell the hall of fame what to do and how to do it and the HoF caves.

@friendly--neighborhood--scrawler ~ Minus the free health care and meal service, I totally disagree.  Although Hernandez in being Administratively Segregated, he's not living better than millions of Americans (absent the homeless).  His movement is restricted.  His friends are probably the roaches crawling along the baseboard in his cell at night.  If he's creative, he's probably given them names.  Then, even in the shower - showering along, he has to worry about another inmate or inmates accidentally gaining access.  Then there's that little issue of human interaction.  Because he's such a high profile case, they have to limit - if not eliminate his contact with other inmates who love to shank him just because.

Then we haven't even gotten to the case and him being convicted and sent to prison.  Yes, I'm getting ahead of myself, but prison isn't club med.

Living better than most Americans? Naw, I think not.  He's living a nightmare created by his own hands and I doubt any "American" would want to trade places with that.

@JamesMartin ~ disagree.... It's bad PR to have his picture up.  Remember the HOF is a business and if it's customer base objects (or has objected) then they're going to remove it.  As a business owner, I'd do the same.

@Ciscos

I was referring to those who are having troubles... not most  American but millions, anyone with illness in the heath care system , i bet they would rather change places with Hernandez to be a whole person again...

there are a lot more homeless people in America than you think not to mention poor... or emtionally troubled

i agree isolation is a terrible thing but some people in life are living a worse nightmare than the lack of socialization.
