Agent: Three teams interested in Jaromir Jagr
Jaromir Jagr is hoping to extend his NHL career, and his agent said there are three teams interested in the 41-year-old. From the report:
“He definitely still wants to play and there is some interest in him,” Jagr’s agent, Petr Svoboda, told The Associated Press on Saturday afternoon. “I think it’s going to take some time, but you never know for sure because there are three teams that are very interested.”
A five-time scoring champion and former NHL MVP, Jagr returned to the league in 2011-2012 with the Philadelphia Flyers. He then signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars before being traded to the Boston Bruins. He had nine points in 11 regular-season games for Boston and zero goals and 10 assists in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Bruins said they would not be re-signing Jagr, but rumors surfaced July 3 that GM Peter Chiarelli may circle back to Jagr after Nathan Horton told the team he would be exploring free agency.
Chiarelli says he's thought now of circling back to Jagr after originally deciding to cut ties with him. Because of Horton exiting.—
