Report: Dwight Howard has made decision, could announce on Twitter
The report made no indication of when Howard was set to make a decision.
Howard met with five teams this past week–the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers, who all gave various pitches as to why Howard should join their team next season.
The Warriors were reportedly still trying clear cap space to sign Howard.
A max deal for Howard would be five years, worth $118 million if he stays with the Lakers. If he signs anywhere else, the deal would be four years, $87.6 million.
Howard averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds in his first season in Los Angeles after being traded from the Orlando Magic last August.
Hold on….my tweet about Dwight's announcement was premature. No need to sit on Twitter this weekend.—
