The New England Patriots‘ offseason has been quite busy and they finally have some news that doesn’t involve Tim Tebow or Aaron Hernandez.

The team unveiled a new logo Wednesday, one with big, blocky blue letters that replaces the white, cursive script of the old one. The “Flying Elvis” emblem also changed, going from the top of the “P” on the old logo to under the “RI” on the new logo. According to NFL.com, the logo change won’t be seen on the team’s helmet.

The Patriots are just continuing a theme that has been prevalent this offseason.

The Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, and San Diego Chargers have each changed a part of their logo or jersey since last season ended.

Are the new uniforms going to have black and white stripes?

Having the face of a guy in your logo - especially one with a hat on - is always a bad idea. Remember the Tampa Bay buccaneer? You can move it around, but it still looks like it was created by somebody at Nicktoons.

the patriots have sucked since they lost SB 12.

They spelled "Cheaters" wrong.

That's not a new logo. The typeface they use, when they spell their team's name, isn't a logo.

It looks like a college logo... do not like it one bit.

Still boring! Thought with the new Nike uniform contract we would get some cool unis, like college, but no, all still boring!!!!

The A and the T don't blend in with the other letters and quite frankly, look stupid.

They spelled "Pirates" wrong in the new logo.  Didn't anyone notice?

It's a logo. Who really cares. It's all for marketing, to sell more merchandise anyway.

Let's play some football!

Aaron Hernandez must have the old logo tattoo'd on his arms, so they had to change it.

They're still cheaters.  No changing that.

Go back to the Patriot snapping the ball.  It was original, distinctive and classic.  I think those uniforms are far superior to any of the one they have worn since they changed to the new style.

This proves when you change things just to change things you don't necessarily get something better.

@DavidandTracyAgee People in Boston call the old logo "the crapping Patriot".  That's a tough one to change back to.

@DavidandTracyAgee    I agree . Old logo was neat and different - snapping the ball ...Lets play some football ..Enough about Hernandez, logo ..Know everyone will have to suffer thru all those worthless NFL exhibition games   but the light is at the end of the tunnel ...Can't wait ..Are you ready for some football ? ..

@EvenSteven I think it proves that a simple logo change can inspire a ridiculously smug comment like yours.

@WCoastPro @EvenSteven Ridiculously smug?  What a ridiculously exaggerated drama-queen post.  Maybe you should be commenting on figure skating instead of football...just a thought.

@John4 @hyphenite lmao... really dude... get over it  - for getting caught doing what every other NFL team has done 1000s of times before... get off your holier than thou platform

why do you think the NFL didn't take it much further?  Pandora's box for a whole league full of ppl doing the same thing

@strayon @DavidandTracyAgee @Action I wondered.  I had never heard that myself but certainly am no Patriots expert.  I don't care what they call it...  go back to it.  The team has made plenty of cash of the log change anyway.  Go back to the old one and make everyone buy new stuff.

@DavidandTracyAgee @Action Never heard that before and I'm not sure I believe it. Native New Englander and the only name I've heard it called was "Pat the Patriot". But who knows, maybe he'd just had some prunes!
