Move over, Doc Rivers versus Bill Simmons. Now, we have an agent versus agent beef. Sort of.

Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z, who can now represent MLB and NBA players as an agent, took the time out of his busy schedule to rap about Scott Boras. Yes, the same Scott Boras that used to represent New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Now, Cano is signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.

Jay-Z will release his highly-anticipated album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” on Thursday and name-checked Boras on the song, “Crown.”

“Scott Boras, you over baby. Robinson Cano, you coming with me,” Jay-Z raps on the song, according to ESPN.com.

Boras, when asked if he had a reply to what Jay-Z rapped, said the following:

“Baseball has given us everything we have, so we give baseball everything we have, all of the time. We believe that this is the best thing we can do for fans, players and owners, to help players with their total commitment. We don’t represent basketball players or football players. We watch, observe and listen to the game. We help the players who play it with a singular purpose, and that is baseball.”

“We have a marketing company, but opportunities don’t avail themselves unless players become stars. That’s our philosophy.”

Roc Nation Sports also represents Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin DurantNew York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith and Tulsa Shock guard Skylar Diggins.

In today's Hip Hop culture being a classless pile of feces s called "street cred". Watching the NFL and NBA supports this cave man mentality.

One thing I have noticed in our society, is that when certain people become famous and wealthy, it is automatically assumed that they achieved what they have through intelligence. Jay Z is a moron, yes, he is a rich one, but still just a moron that has gotten rich by taking money from other morons. If I am young and talented player, I think I would prefer to put my career in the hands of the intelligent agent that is the best at his job, rather than the rapper that decided he wanted to play agent for awhile.

I'm embarrassed for the millions of pea-brains that have put money in Jay-Z's pocket, but sadder for society. It's a comical juxtaposition listening to Jay-Z stumble his way through the english language, then Boras making him look like a pre-schooler with his eloquent response. This is what society is coming to - the monkeys are running the zoo. Rap music, for the most part, is a complete joke - kid's music for the (m)asses...

another class act, 50 cent kicking his girlfriend, and now jay-z gloating over taking away clients from another agent. all their millions can't buy these guys one ounce of class.

This is an ugly development and a shameful act on the part of Jay-Z. Rap stars have from the beginning used their words to build themselves up by tearing down other rap stars, and now Carter is bringing that vengeful stupidity to his new hobby. Taking such stupidity seriously is what killed several rap stars, so we need to ask Mr. Carter: What's next? Will he have some of his thug friends shoot at other agents? Is it his intent to use his rap to intimidate them? I don't know much about Mr. Carter but from what I gather he sounds like he still has plenty of unresolved anger issues.

It would be racism if it were the other way around.

Jay Z is an ugly, illiterate moron and yet a hero to millions in today's rap star obsessed subculture. They're all a bunch of Nancies.

@EmotionallDeLosSantos Typical comment from the weak-minded sheep out there. Are you proud to just be a sheep in the flock? Wouldn't you aspire to do anything more?

@Joebuckster leave your stupid and uncultured opinion at home. "the monkeys are running the zoo"? that has to be one of the most racist things ive ever read on here. jealousy is an ugly color, which you are oozing here. insulting a man who has a half a billion dollar net worth from a brain and not athletic ability. get some knowledge before you make ridiculous comments like this one you ignorant maggot

@Mark112Why does he need to be called names? Because you don't like hip hop? He is a much smarter person than you mark112 since he is worth a billion dollars and all you can do is post disrespectful things about him on the internet. I don't think he is the illiterate one here, you are.....

@Mark112 He ain't pretty, but he's sure not a moron.  Hard to build up a company like he has without serious business sense.

@dborg5 What did he say that you could provide a counterpoint to? The very essence of Jay Z's entry into the sports agent field is racism. He's banking on the fact that uneducated black players will choose to have another uneducated black, with no experience in this field, handle their careers rather than those with a proven track record.

The whole thing is about race.

@justice1220

You make a good/valid point. I'll try to keep my personal biases out of the discussion. (although I'm semi-literate at the very least). Take care Justice.

@justice1220 @Mark112 Yeah - he's the black version of Simon Cowell. Turns talent-less people spewing drivel into money. Unfortunately hip-hop is now a joke - nothing but a bunch of non-musicians playing around on a computer with other people's samples. Too bad for society that the majority of people have zero taste in anything - that's why he's a success. It's not some genius business acumen, sorry. The reason our airwaves are filled with crap is simply that stupid people outnumber intelligent ones. Jay-Z's stealing of Boras' client and gloating about it is a perfect example of that...

@djm4672 @Mark112 you think he built his business himself? the only thing he was smart about was picking people to do his work for him.

@therealgramita

I get it now; anyone who doesn't like Jay Z (or rap) is a bigoted racist (or is it a racist bigot?). Thanks for the enlightenment Dr. King.

@Mark112 @dborg5

Getting over by any means necessary isn't a component of hip-hop 'subculture', it's a component of American culture period, lol.  I guess nobody takes corporations seriously either, right?  hahaha

"He's banking on the fact that uneducated black players will choose to have another uneducated black, with no experience in this field, handle their careers"

Oh yeah... people's ignorant ideas on race isn't a factor in this argument at all; that's just pure genius right there, lol.

@dborg5

"Testing at a 12th grade level in 6th grade" doesn't really mean anything when the school system is a substandard joke just as is referring to Jay Z as a "brilliant business man." No educated individual is against Jay Z because he's Black (does anyone who isn't a hick even care about such things?) so you can stop using that as an excuse. The reason that some people hate rap is because rappers have no musical ability (they generally can't sing or play an instrument) and the lyrics are akin to nursery rhymes with a fake street edge.  As long as getting over by any means necessary is the ultimate goal even a pseudo intellectual won't take the subculture seriously.

dborg5
dborg5

 @muser @dborg5 Jay Z tested at a 12th grade level in 6th grade. that is a fact, look it up. just because he chose a career that entitles him to endless royalties from "pea-brains" doesnt mean he doesnt know what hes doing. He became a sports agent because its something he wanted to accomplish. with his entertainment business connections he will provide more off-the-field opportunities to players he signs, that boras couldnt do. like i said, get some knowledge about the man before you start throwing racist insults at him. hes a brilliant business man. do you think Warren Buffet would have lunch with him frequently if he was anything less than that? just because you guys don't like rap doesnt mean that hes not smart. IGNORANCE spinkled all throughout these comments on this article
