Vincent Lecavalier reaches agreement with Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers agreed to a multi-year contract with former Tampa Bay Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier, the team announced.

According to mulitple media reports, it is a five-year deal, worth $23.5 million.

Lecavalier was bought out by the Lightning last week with seven years and $45 million still left on his deal. Lecavalier becomes an unrestricted free agent on Friday.

Tampa Bay will have to pay Lecavalier $32.67 million in the buyout. The buyout includes an $8 million bonus that had to be paid out in full. The remaining salary is paid out at two-thirds, $24.67 million over the next 14 years.

Lecavalier, 33, had 10 goals and 22 assists in 39 games for the Lightning last season.
