The Chicago Bulls and forward Mike Dunleavy have verbally agreed to a two-year contract worth $6 million, ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reported Monday. Other reports confirmed that the two sides were nearing a deal.

With the Milwaukee Bucks last season, Dunleavy averaged 10.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in almost 26 minutes.

He also shot a career-best 42.8 percent from 3-point range. He was tied for eighth in the NBA in 3-point shooting accuracy. With point guard Derrick Rose set to return from a year off after tearing his ACL, Rose could fill a role similar to the one that sharpshooter Kyle Korver played for the team during the 2011-12 season.

Dunleavy cannot officially sign the contract until July 10, when the NBA’s moratorium on signings and trades ends.

According to Stein, Dunleavy was also considering deals with the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
