The Los Angeles Clippers are moving quickly on their intention to unload guard Eric Bledsoe after locking up point guard Chris Paul to a long-term deal.

The Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are discussing a potential sign-and-trade scenario that would send Bledsoe to Dallas in exchange for guard O.J. Mayo, ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reported Monday. Meanwhile, ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne reported that the Clippers are also talking about a swap with the Milwaukee Bucks involving Bledsoe and guard J.J. Redick.

The Clippers appear to be focusing on adding a scorer to complement Paul in the backcourt — either with Mayo or the sharpshooting Redick.

Bledsoe has been an overall disappointment in three seasons with the Clippers. The 23-year-old guard did have, however, his best statistical season last year, averaging 8.5 points and three assists per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field.

Both Mayo and Redick would give the Clippers viable scoring options at the shooting-guard slot. Mayo averaged 15.3 points per game in Dallas last season while shooting 40.7 percent from 3-point range, and Redick averaged 14.1 points on 43.4 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Bledsoe was great when they let him play. He was even awesome when he played at SG. He didn't do much in the Playoffs, but that's not his fault, that's Vinny's fault. Bled would get the craziest blocks, he will be missed.

Oh and Vinny seriously had some horrible lineups out there during the playoffs. He had a few goods ones (by accident) and never went back to them.. one of them included Bledsoe at SG.

How exactly has Eric Bledsoe been a dissapointment in L.A.? He's done everything they've asked him to do.
