The Golden State Warriors are shopping David Lee around the league, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Lee, 30, has three years and $44 million remaining on his contract. The Warriors reportedly offered Lee in a package deal to Toronto for Andrea Bargnani, but the Raptors made a deal with the Knicks. Golden State also looked to acquire Lamarcus Aldridge in a trade with the Trail Blazers, according to Yahoo sources.

From Yahoo:

Lee, 30, is a popular and well-respected player within the Golden State franchise but his contract is considerable, and moving him for a star – or a player on a shorter deal – makes financial sense.

Lee averaged 18.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game last season. He suffered a torn hip flexor in April during the NBA playoffs and underwent surgery in May.

Seems like he would be a good fit for the Timberwolves.

The Warriors were a better squad without him.  They never would have beaten the Nuggets with Lee starting.

Doesn't now seem worthwhile for him to have come back early from injury this year to squeeze in a few playoff minutes for GSW. They lost anyway, of course, and then moved to trade him in the end.
