The New England Patriots ProShop will offer a free jersey exchange of any #81 Aaron Hernandez jersey purchased at the team’s website or online at PatriotsProShop.com.

Patriots.com reports that the free exchange will happen next weekend and the fans can exchange a jersey for a new Patriots jersey of comparable value.

Hernandez was released by the team on Monday after being arrested and then ultimately charged with first-degree murder and five other gun charges. He is behind bars after being denied bail twice this week.

“We know that children love wearing their Patriots jerseys, but may not understand why parents don’t want them wearing their Hernandez jerseys anymore,” said New England Patriots spokesperson Stacey James. “We hope this opportunity to exchange those jerseys at the Patriots ProShop for another player’s jersey will be well received by parents.”

A somewhat classy move by the Pats.

If the people who have been shot by Hernandez were known to be Republicans or tea party Conservatives, every Democrat in this country would hail Hernandez as a hero, an idol for their children to look up to and aspire to be like.

Facts are facts, Mao killed 30 million and every Democrat like White House communications director Anita Dunn have stated that Mao is one of their favorite political philosophers.  You still can't find a single Democrat who will denounce all the Democrat comments about wanting to see Sarah Palin raped, Democrats support harm and violence against their fellow Americans who don't march lock step to the National Socialist Democrat party.

So in order to get a special offer of a free jersey exchange, the player has to be a felon?

Perhaps they can be donated to the prison where Hernandez is at, and they can put together a whole team of thugs

Why Yes... If you are dumb enough to Pay $250.00 for this from their website for a piece of cloth that costs 8 cents to manufacture in China.. please, come in and exchange it for one of Hernandez' handguns.

Buy American, from that guy on the side of the road manufacturing out of a U Store It and selling them for $40.

But there will be pathetic souls who will now want one of these.

I totally want one now that it's in severe bad taste. Meanwhile if you bought a Wes Welker or Danny Woodhead jersey, you are boned. No returns for you.

This will cost the Patriots money but they have done EVERYTHING correct in this situation.  Very classy.

Im a Dolphins Fan, and I think that what the Patriots are doing by exchanging out jerseys is a brilliant move. The Patriots could not have done a better job in handling this situation. Well Played Kraft. I may not like your team but I do respect you.

Good form, NE. Instead of waiting out for Goodell to suspend Hernandez and maybe getting back some of that salary, the Patriots (hate em or not) have taken the necessary steps to remove all association of Hernandez with their franchise and they did it quickly.

@Doug Davis Get back on your meds, Doug. If you're not supposed to be on meds, you need help. Go see a doctor and get on meds.

@Doug DavisLOL..You are going off on a ridiculous tangent. This is a story about a guy who had all the fame and fortune that comes with being a professional athlete and threw it all away because he values the image of living a 'thug' life where respect is predicated on who you can intimidate and threaten with violence. Spare me and the rest of us with your weak attempt to lump this tragic homicide case into the overall rift of political ideologies between republican and democrats, liberals and conservatives...yawn..

@Doug Davis Douglas, either you're off your meds or just a special kind of stupid. Which is it?

@JamesMartin Is that where you're located? Last time I checked the Patriots played in Mass. It's nice how a dirt bag like you would point all American issues to another country. How very American of you! :)

@6marK6 Not so sure, the jersey still has the word "Patriot" on it and Democrats hate that word, in fact their leader Obama made the IRS target Conservative groups who used that word as part of the name of their non-profit organization.

@craneial The Welker jersey is a little bit of a different situation isn't it?

@The_Thrill @JamesMartin  no comment really, never a matter of my patriotism, i've been to iraq and done my time. more a joke that the taliban would think its cool to wear the jersey of an "alleged" murderer. maybe a flat joke, anyway... moving on. lol

Good call 6! How dare someone use less than perfect grammar when responding to your question that wasn't capitalized or punctuated.  It's cool though.  I've got your back.
