Kevin Garnett will waive his no-trade clause in a part of the discussed Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics blockbuster trade involving Garnett and Paul Pierce, Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The Nets have agreed to pay Garnett all of the $12 million is he owed for the 2013-14 season.

The Celtics will send Garnett and Pierce along with guard Jason Terry to Brooklyn for Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, Kris Humphries and three future-first round picks (2014, ’16, ’18). The Nets will also send Reggie Evans to the Celtics in a sign-and-trade and an additional minimum-level player as a part of the deal.

The trade can’t be made official by the NBA until July 10.

He could've taken less money like Lebron, Wade and Bosh did. But he didn't. Money over loyalty.

I'm torn with this trade.....they're phenomenal players, but they're at the twilight of their career.....not sure if they'll be able to keep up the pace with the higher teams.

Thanks for the memoris KG. You single handedly transformed us back into Champions! We salute you and PP for giving everything you had to the Celtics. Now, go beat the Heat with JKIDD.

Hahahahahaha. So much for loyalty, KG!! Don't want to EVER, EVER hear you complain about Lebron again!  Yeah, that's the guy who just got two rings in a row.

@RS19 Are you aware that getting traded and leaving via free agency are not the same thing?

@RS19 What are you talking about? He goes out the ultimate team player! The C's ask him to waive the no trade so they can rebuild and he goes along with it. You don't know what you're talking about. Completely different scenario than Lebron or  Ray Allen.

@doghockey @RS19 He had the choice to turn down the trade but didn't. Know the facts, people.
