LeBron James took to Twitter to defend his former Cavaliers teammate Danny Green, who has received backlash since photos and videos emerged of the Spurs’ wing greeting the Miami Heat at Story nightclub following their NBA Finals win on Thursday.

“Danny Green did not party with us on Thursday night. He came to say congrats,” James tweeted on Sunday afternoon, saying he was “proud” of Green for his development.

Green was the story of the series through five games, in which he broke the NBA Finals record by sinking 25 threes on 38 attempts. The Cavs’ second-round draft pick in 2009, Green was waived by both Cleveland and San Antonio before spending time in the NBA D-League and becoming the Spurs’ starting shooting guard.

Green himself tweeted on Friday to clarify that he was not “celebrating” with the Heat but just “happened to be there.”

Yeah, how cares if he did.  They were teammates before.  Sometimes the media and gossip columns get their hands dirty looking for dirt when all they are doing is playing in the mud....nothing here.

Does it matter if he did? His team made the championship series and at least let him have some celebration as long as he doesn't do anything stupid and arrested.

Quite a little game trying to understand the spelling and sentence structures of these two young scholars.

@6marK6 I'm an English teacher, and my spelling and sentence structure is impeccable....but not on *Twitter*!!! You want a scholar (and I am one) to be grammatically perfect, I'm going to need a lot more than 140 characters. Get over yourself.

@6marK6 Yes... Because obviously an informal social networking site, which only allows 140 characters per message, is definitely a platform that will accurately display ones intelligence. *Sigh*

How ironic that in trying to insult someone's intellect you unwittingly exposed your own ignorance. Congratulations. A+

@6marK6  Obviously a game you are perpetuating with "sentence structures".

Concur. The amount of veiled racism on these sports sites is disheartening. People are people. Integrity and honor is either there, or it is not there.

I think it is ill advised for one to claim to be a scholar and then proceed to type a statement consisting of improper punctuation, sentence fragments, run on sentences, and dangling participles. Lebron never claimed to be a scholar, nor to have impeccable sentence structure, and thus the criticism levied against him is unwarranted. After all, if Lebron studied under  English professors such as FDowney, it is a miracle he can write coherently at all.

"Few cross over the river. Most are stranded on the wrong side- often due to personal biases and warps in perception. On the riverbank they run up and down. But the wise person, seeing the unity of life- seeing himself in all creatures and all creatures in himself- abandons feelings of hate that arise from lust, and understands that such racial distinctions are as empty as the frailty of ocean's foam. Verily, only love dispels hate. This is the law, ancient an inexhaustible. A place the wise call home."

I'm going to guess that FDowney applied the same requirement of standard to posting in a comments section that he would to posting on Twitter. I.e. that it's a colloquial setting, and hence colloquial expression is not only acceptable, but warranted. There was nothing incoherent about his post, hence your snarky riposte was entirely... unwarranted.

Get over yourself.
