Olympic medalist Carmelita Jeter will skip the U.S. Championships in Des Moines to nurse a sore right quadriceps, reports the Associated Press.

Jeter was scheduled to run the 100-meter race on Thursday night, but her coach, John Smith, said they “didn’t want to take any chances.” The 33-year-old track star already has an automatic qualifying spot at the World Championships in Moscow in August by way of her win in 2011.

Jeter won three medals at the 2012 London Games — bronze in the 200, silver in the 100 and a gold with the 400-meter relay team.
