Former WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded guilty Friday for assaulting her ex-girlfriend, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Holdsclaw, a former Olympic gold medalist, was charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage in the first degree, two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Holdsclaw was arrested in March for smashing the windows of a Range Rover belonging to WNBA player Jennifer Lacy. Holdsclaw broke the driver’s side window, rear passengers’ window and rear window before taking a gun out and firing a shot into the Range Rover.

Holdsclaw will not face any jail time but was sentenced to three years’ probation along with paying a $3,000 fine, Atlanta District Attorney Paul Howard said.

Holdsclaw played 12 seasons in the WNBA before retiring in 2010.

“According to the terms of the plea agreement, Holdsclaw must avoid violent contact with the victim, complete anger management treatment, and perform 120 hours of community service speaking with youth about depression, overcoming adversity and the consequences of one’s actions,” Howard said in an emailed statement. “She must also relinquish all firearms.”

Hola
Hola

IF this had been a man, he would be sentenced to life in jail without the possibility of parole.

@HolaGeorgia gun laws aren't as strict as most states and she's an athlete/celebrity who has done good things for the community. Also, she's a first-time offender.

@Raheem @Hola Yeah, she's lucky she didn't do this in NYC or Bloomberg would have given her ten times more jail time than he did with Plexico
