Report: Tarvaris Jackson to sign with Seahawks
Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Twitter.
Jackson started 14 games for Seattle in 2011, but he lost a three-way quarterback competition with Russell Wilson and Matt Flynn before last season and was traded to Buffalo. He didn’t throw a pass for the Bills and was released earlier this week.
The Seahawks were in the market for a backup quarterback this offseason after trading Flynn to the Raiders. In April, Seattle signed Brady Quinn. Jackson should have a chance to compete with Quinn for the No. 2 spot behind Wilson.
Jackson has started 34 games in his career. In his season with Seattle, he threw for career bests of 3,091 yards and 14 touchdowns.
