Clippers interview Brian Shaw; will meet with Byron Scott, Lionel Hollins, Nate McMillan
Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw interviewed with the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday about their vacant head coaching position and NBA executives said the meetings “went great,” according to a report on Tuesday from Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
Shaw met with team President Andy Roeser, Vice President of Basketball Operations Gary Sacks and Director of Basketball Administration Eric Miller at the team facility on Monday, and was scheduled to have dinner with Clippers team owner Donald Sterling on Monday night.
He is one of four candidates to meet with the team this week: former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott will meet with the Clippers on Tuesday; former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins will meet with the Clippers on Wednesday, two days after parting ways with his former team; and former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan will interview with the Clippers as a possible Vinny Del Negro successor on Thursday.
Shaw also reportedly has an interview setup with the Nets on Wednesday. Brooklyn parted ways with interim head coach P.J. Carlesimo after their first-round playoff exit to the Chicago Bulls in May. The Denver Nuggets, who decided earlier in June to fire George Karl in the final year of his contract, will also look to set up a meeting with Shaw.
