Report: Thunder forward Kevin Durant expected to join Roc Nation Sports
Durant, 24, was second in the NBA in scoring this season and averaged 28.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 51% from the field. He finished second in NBA MVP voting in 2012-13 and was named first-team All-NBA for the fourth straight season.
Jay-Z, a Grammy-winning rap artist, is building up quite a roster of professional athletes to join his group. But before he can sign Durant or take on any NBA clientele, he would need to sell his shares of ownership of the Brooklyn Nets, which reportedly he hasn’t done yet.
New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith and Tulsa Shock guard Skylar Diggins have already joined the firm, which is a partnership with Creative Artists Agency Sports launched earlier this year.
The NFL Players Association is keeping a close watch on how Roc Nation is acquiring its roster of athletes, and met with Roc Nation representatives in Washington, D.C., this week to discuss Jay-Z’s involvement in the recruitment of Smith, reports NFL.com.
Landmark Sports President, NBA agent Rob Pelinka: “We are honored & blessed to have worked on behalf of Kevin for a brief period of time."—
