Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has left his agency, Landmark Sports and is expected to join Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports, reports the Sports Business Journal.

Landmark Sports also represents Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Houston Rockets guard James Harden, among others.

Durant, 24, was second in the NBA in scoring this season and averaged 28.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 51% from the field. He finished second in NBA MVP voting in 2012-13 and was named first-team All-NBA for the fourth straight season.

Jay-Z, a Grammy-winning rap artist, is building up quite a roster of professional athletes to join his group. But before he can sign Durant or take on any NBA clientele, he would need to sell his shares of ownership of the Brooklyn Nets, which reportedly he hasn’t done yet.

New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith and Tulsa Shock guard Skylar Diggins have already joined the firm, which is a partnership with Creative Artists Agency Sports launched earlier this year.

The NFL Players Association is keeping a close watch on how Roc Nation is acquiring its roster of athletes, and met with Roc Nation representatives in Washington, D.C., this week to discuss Jay-Z’s involvement in the recruitment of Smith, reports NFL.com.

Roc Nation Sports is just a brand, Creative Artists Agency will be  pulling the strings, and they are very powerful. Durant is in good hands.

He's going to live to regret this. Durant had been putting together that family friendly image--I doubt Jay-Z going to help with that.

@aaronfarber9   Whatever.  An agent that gets the best deal for his client is what it's about.  JayZ has a family too. And will get the best deal for his clients.  What is the problem with that?  F

@Ace_Buzby @aaronfarber9 I have no doubt the lawyers with CAA will get Durant the best deal  when he signs his next NBA contract. Roc Nation gets endorsements and does branding. Jay-Z's only involvement is getting Durant endorsements from brands/companies he's associated with and I don't think booze and clothes companies are going to help Durant get McDonald's/Coke, the companies where the real money is.
