The Kings could be parting ways with a familiar face this offseason as they look to name a new head coach and general manager to usher in a fresh era under new owner Vivek Ranadive. According to ESPN Insider Chris Ford, via HoopsHype, Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins could be on the move either to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks or Charlotte Bobcats this summer.

According to Ford, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is pushing to trade the team’s No. 1 pick ahead of next month’s draft and wants a young big man or small forward in return. Cousins has a year left on his contract before he becomes one of the premiere forward-centers in the 2014 free agent class and shouldn’t be ruled out as an option for the Cavs as they look to build a young, promising core around former Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving.

According to Ford, the Cavs will be talking to the Kings once Sacramento has named a new general manager, and the Mavs and Bobcats will also speak with Sacramento to gauge whether the new team owner, general manager and head coach are willing to part with the talented but oft-troubled Cousins.

Reports from Sacramento are that Vivek Ranadive has already been on the phone with DeMarcus Cousins and he's staying with the Kings.  But what do people in Sacramento know?  We didn't even know our team was moving to Seattle.

The only way I want this trade is - Cav's hand over Gilbert's son for the next 10 years think it like Game of Thrones - Horny Bobcats - the only way we give up Big Cuz - hand over MJ in Kings Uni or we take his wife as a Kings Dancer for the next 10 years - Dallas - we want Dirk - Marion - and Cuban to apologize to Vivek and KJ

Anyone remember Joe Barry Carroll? He had Cousin's skill and mind set. The Celtics traded him to the Warriors for Robert Parish and used the draft pick on Kevin McHale. Meanwhile the Warrior fans had to suffer with Joe Barry for years.

If I'm the Kings my minimum price is two top 10 picks along with a quality player.  He's a top five big man right now and his ceiling is much higher.  There's no one in this year's draft near his skill set.

@jrs7180 But he is a headcase and that hurts his trade value.

If the Kings want a young big man I could see a deal going down between the Cavs and Kings. Nerlens Noel and Tristan Thompson/ Dion Waiters for Cousins if the Cavs just wanted a straight-up deal for Cousins. Maybe the Kings want to unload someone else too though... interesting deal but I don't know how Cousins would fit in in Cleveland. I'd rather see him in a place like Boston.

@JoshPugsley Including Waiters is probably too steep a price.   If Cousins weren't a headcase, it would be a different story.
