New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey has been linked romantically to Sports Illustrated supermodel Anne Vyalitsyna, US Weekly reports. The two reportedly met at a New York Rangers game in an elevator when the ace right-hander received the 26-year-old supermodel’s phone number. The couple were recently photographed at a New York Rangers playoffs game together earlier in the week.

A source told US Weekly that Harvey and Vyalitsyna are taking things slow due to busy work schedules but Harvey “seems to like her a lot.”

Harvey, recently featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, is one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. The 24-year-old pitcher is 5-0 with a minuscule 1.93 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 70 innings this season for the Mets.

VERDUCCI: After 766 tries, the Mets have a homegrown ace in Matt Harvey

several months ago, a couple of buddies and I did a little "content analysis" on si.com. In the course of a week's time, only about 35-40% of the articles were actually concerned with sports action on the field/court. Some days it was more like 10-15%.

The remainder were about things like contract disputes, personal conflicts, sports governing bodies, and of course the scandal du jour. Sports-related, for the most part, but not SPORTS.

Now I see we can add "jock dating habits" to the mix. Sports Enquirer Illustrated.

why in hell is this considered a TOP story when  there are REAL baseball stories left OUT??

@John NoLastName Go to ESPN, CBS, Fox, & they all have stories about the personal lives of the athletes that play the games and not just box scores and game rehash.  If you don't believe me, gather your pals for another round of content analysis.   Last I checked, no one is forcing you to click on links to any stories that don't fit into your slim category of approved reading material.

@morphy Because it you chronic complainers something to whine about.   Oh, and here is a thought: if you don't want to go to the story, don't click on the lick.   Try it.  You might be a bit less miserable.

@doghockey @John NoLastName Nor is anyone forcing you to write sophomoric comebacks to issues you don't even understand. If all you want to read about is "dating habits of the jocks", then stick to ... whatever other sites those are. I'm sure you know them better than I.
