Former Detroit Lions receiver Titus Young was charged with three more counts on Friday, bringing his total to 11 charges against stemming from multiple run-ins with law over a two-week period, reports USA Today.

The new chargers are a felony count of attempted residential burglary and misdemeanor counts of obstruction and vandalism.

Judge Andre Manssourian also increased Young’s bail from $25,000 to $50,000. Young was arrested three times in southern California in a week, culminating in his jailing May 11.

“Mr. Young poses a danger to the community,” Manssourian said.

Young also refused to speak when asked basic questions by the judge.

Judge: “Good morning, sir.”

Young: No reply.

Judge: “Can you hear me?”

Young: No reply.

Judge: “Are you Titus Demetrius Young?”

Young: No reply.

Young’s father tried to call out to him in the courtroom and again Young did not respond. Young’s attorney later said that Young was exercising his right to remain silent.

More from USA Today:

Young’s attorney, Altus W. Hudson II, said [the counts] relate to an alleged attempted burglary the night of May 11. Young already faces charges of breaking into a house that night.

Of the eight previous charges, three are felonies. He also faces possible prosecution for a DUI arrest in nearby Riverside County.

This whole mess has gone beyond reckless stupidity or youthful hijinks. Titus is probably suffering from serious brain damage. His judgment is completely shot and he seems unusually aggressive. He should be declared incompetent and placed under psychiatric observation. This guy needs major long-term help.

This guy is driving 100mph on the Road To Nowhere.

Pathetic, even by NFL standards.

I think his Dad's right and this young man needs some help.  Before he hurts somebody or himself.

The right to remain silent doesn't apply to questions asked by a judge... failure to answer those is contempt.  He's lucky he didn't get another charge.  The moron.

Want to know the definition of a really dumb person, a real Darwin Award winner, one who is ignorance personified?  An "A Number One" stooge?

You get one guess here...

And by the way BudkrisMandel, thanks for your George Wallace impression.

@BudkisMandel

Amazing.  You did the impossible. You actually made Titus Young look good.  in comparison only to you, of course.
