Tony Parker to have ‘precautionary’ MRI on calf
San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will undergo a “precautionary” MRI on his calf on Thursday, according to a tweet Wednesday afternoon from Dan McCarney of the San Antonio Express-News.
According to a report Wednesday afternoon from the Associated Press, Parker said the doctor’s visit on Thursday is “just to make sure” his rehabbing of an injury that limited him in the final two games of the Spurs’ second-round matchup against the Golden State Warriors is on schedule.
Now in the Western Conference Finals, the Spurs travel to Memphis for Game 3 against the Grizzlies on Saturday night and Parker said he doesn’t expect to miss it, adding that the three-day break between Tuesday’s 93-89 overtime win in San Antonio and Saturday came “at a perfect time for me,” according to the report.
Parker, who finished the overtime win Tuesday with 15 points and a career-high 18 assists, had missed eight consecutive games in March because of an ankle injury.
Tony said he'll have precautionary MRI on calf. No indication of anything serious.—
