Andy Murray, ranked No. 2 in the world, has decided to withdraw from the French Open due to a back injury.

Reports out of England Saturday said Murray had undergone a back scan in London after he pulled out of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome with a lower back problem.

Murray made his decision not to play in the French Open after a week of rest and the advice of doctors. The move will allow Murray to rest and focus on Wimbledon.

“It’s a really tough decision and I love playing in Paris, but after seeking medical advice, I am not fit to compete,” Murray told the BBC.
