New York Knicks point guard Pablo Prigioni could leave the team this offseason and return to Spain, the New York Post’s Marc Berman reported on Monday. Berman reported that Prigioni’s wife, Raquel, wants to return to the country, where her husband played from 1999-2012.

After the Knicks were eliminated from the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, Prigioni sounded noncommittal on a return to the team.

“I think it’s not the moment to talk about that now,’’ Prigioni told reporters after the game. “It’s painful to lose. It’s painful to start the vacation now. This is about the team. Now I stay quiet.”

According to Berman, Prigioni signed a one-year deal with the Knicks with the purpose of testing out life in the United States for his family. Raquel, who is from Spain, encountered a tough adjustment period because she does not speak English.

Prigioni, 36, ended up playing a key role off the Knicks’ bench this season, averaging 3.5 points and three assists per game in just 16.2 minutes. He started in 10 of the Knicks’ 11 playoff games.

I hope Prigioni stays, but how can not speaking English and not finding friends from Spain be a problem...in New York City ???
