The Buffalo Bills are remaining mum on Mario Williams’ off-the-field issues but the Bills are reportedly taking the defensive end’s issues “seriously.” Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone told reporters Monday that he has spoken to defensive end Mario Williams about his off-the-field problems. Marrone said the Bills will not comment on personal matters and his conversations with Williams will “remain private”

Earlier this month, Williams filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancée for a $785,000 engagement ring after the couple had broken off the engagement. Williams’ fiancée, Erin Marzouki, is refusing to return the 10.04 carat ring and her lawyer, Tony Buzbee, is claiming Williams’ emotional instability is the reason why the engagement ended. Buzbee released a three-page series of text messages allegedly exchanged between Williams and Marzouki that reveals Williams as having suicidal thoughts.

“I took 3 hydrocodones this morning and no one knows,” Williams allegedly texted Marzouki. “I’m going to take 2 more on the plane and fade away.” He allegedly went on to text, “No money in the world should leave me with suicidal thoughts.”

Williams refuted the claims Buzbee made, claiming the Bills prescribed and dispensed the painkillers.

Just a classic woman scorned story! Erin is a gold digging beyatch, nothing more. Mario, this story is not ours to read, let alone judge. Whatever happened, happened! You are a class act unlike some of the commentors here. I take 10 pills everyday for kidney and liver problems. FYI, when i first started these, i, too was off my  beeb. I spoke gibberish, it was embarrassing. Especially not remembering much of what i said. So, i understand how this can be misread. I do not sit high on a throne looking down on other's. I am like you in that regard! MR> WILLIAMS, stay strong, be guarded and trust no women. there is a reason for adam's broad being named EVE, it's the pc version of her true name...EVIL!!  GO BILLS!!

He had better focus on the upcoming season.  He's due to be paid $6.5M this year.  There's a roster bonus of $10.6M for next year with another $3.2M in salary and bonuses.   None of the 2014 money is guaranteed.  Bills can cut him after this season and not owe him a dime.

If you are stupid enough to spend $785,000 for a gift to someone who has the right to walk away from you, then you have to accept the loss.  That's the way it goes.  Pick yourself up and go on.  It isn't like the guy is hurting for money.  He got a $19M signing bonus last year and played like a bum.  The Bills should sue him to get half of that back.

Buddy Nix might not be GM but the Bills will still have to deal with this big mistake he brought in. He's more concerned with his failed engagement that sacking the QB.

Sheesh, $785,000! I know that the engagement ring is considered a gift, but c'mon. We're not talking about a carat or two. Unless he was hitting her and this is her revenge this woman has no honor at all.  Return the ring. Return the **** ring.

The Winter can be depressing in Buffalo, but sheesh, get a grip man!

What an idiotic statement. Of course he's more concerned about his personal life .....Its the off-season!  When the games start then he can concentrate on sacking the QB. The big mistake you talk about had 10.5 sacks last year with a bum wrist and horrible defensive coaching. Way too soon to call Mario a mistake.

@popinton He may have had 10.5 sacks but  he did very little else with 4 tackles for loss and 4 knocked down passes. Maybe he will play better physically at 100% and with a new D Coordinator but what about his mental game? When your star lineman is talking about suicidal thoughts, that's a red flag.

Of course, his mates up front didn't play up to snuff, either.

My take was from his performance @ San Francisco. Of course, nobody played very well in that 45-3 shellacking. Buffalo made Alex Smith look like a Super Bowl QB. I will admit my take is flawed.
