The Minnesota Vikings are not currently looking to sign former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, reports NFL.com.

Earlier Tuesday, according to Michael Sneed of the Chicago Sun-Times, it seemed liked Urlacher was leaning toward signing with the Vikings.

Instead of bring Urlacher to Minnesota, the plan is for the Vikings to look to players already on the roster to fill their void at middle linebacker.

The Sun-Times reported in March that the Vikings were “monitoring” Urlacher but general manager Rick Spielman said last month he doesn’t “anticipate” signing the eight-time Pro Bowler who turns 35 this month.

Sneed reports that Urlacher, who nixed the Bears’ $1.6 million contract offer in March, has also been talking to the Broncos.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports the Broncos have no interest in Urlacher.

The Packers let Charles go and the Bears let Brian go but they

both still think they can play; at what level?

The guy has been the most overrated player in the league for the last four years.....at least.

Old and slow does not get you a job in the NFL. He was great but it's time to hang up the spikes. If you can't perform you will not have much leadership impact.

Welcome to a course in new NFL economics.  Great players at 35 with the usual physical problems, but formidable leadership and proven ability, just cannot command contracts, where very mobile rookies are both inexpensive and need playing time.  It's not just economics, the game itself is changing.

@gary41 He isn't great, questionable leadership and more like proven inability lately. Of course he will struggle to get a contract. Mike Singletary can't get a playing contract either.

Who would be interested? I just don't see what he brings to the field. Just not an NFL calibre player anymore.
