George Postolos, the President and CEO of the Houston Astros, has resigned on Monday, according to MLB.com Astros beat writer Brian McTaggart. Postolos became President and CEO of the Astros after Jim Crane and investment partners bought the club in 2011.

According to MLB.com., Crane and Postolos worked together with the common goal of, “developing the best young talent in baseball to make the Astros a perennial contender.” ESPN.com’s Keith Law ranked the Astros as having the fourth best farm system in all of baseball. Law ranked the Astros 27th overall in 2012.

Despite improving the farm system, the results have not shown up at the big league level. Since 2011, the Astros have finished with the least amount of wins in baseball (111) and currently are a league-worst 10-28.
