Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested twice in 15 hours on Sunday by southern California police, reports The Oakland Press.

Young was stopped by the Moreno Valley Police Department at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday after making an illegal left turn in front of a patrol car and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked, received a citation and released from custody.

Just hours later, at 2:22 p.m. that day, police responded to a tow company yard where a man was seen jumping over the fence.

He was arrested for burglary after the police determined Young was trying to steal his own vehicle. He was booked again at the same detention center.

Young was a second-round draft pick by the Lions in 2011 out of Boise State and finished the last season on injured reserve with a bad knee.  Young, 23, was released by the team on Feb. 4. Young was claimed off waivers later that month by the St. Louis Rams, but cut a few days later.

Isn't this the same idiot that was causing such a distraction on the Lions' sideline last year?  Griping about not getting the ball enough or some such nonsense?  Yeah, Calvin Johnson is such a slacker.  And now he's out of the league, probably for good.  As a famous Texas philosopher once said, "You can't fix stupid."

The guy is not in the league anymore. Who really cares?

And to think Leaf REFUSED to play for the Colts if they drafted them...... Manning could've been a Charger =p

This guy had problems while at Boise State, he was lucky to stay on the team. Now another guy with great athletic ability throws it all away. Where were his mentors. Sadly we will see him among the deceased or incarcerated within a few years.

This is his mentors' fault?  Really?  Why isn't it HIS fault?  Please feel free to explain...

Lets cut the guy some slack, he was just trying to get the drugs he needed out of the trunk. He knew he couldn't drive the car out the lot without a ticket.

What a great dad.  I bet this is someone else's fault too.

THIS ARTICLE HIGHLIGHTS THE FACT YOUNG PROFESSIONAL-ATHLETES DO NOT HAVE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MATURITY TO DEAL WITH THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THROWN AT THEIR FEET.

SINCE THESE YOUNG MALES CAME FROM POVERTY, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN FUNNY TO ME THAT THE FIRST THING THEY WANT TO DO WITH THEIR MONEY IS, "Buy my mama a house." IT IS SAD THESE YOUNG MALES ARE PRESSURED BY PARENTS TO REVERSE ROLES; PARENTS NURTURE ATHLETIC SONS - NOT, VICE VERSA. NO WONDER DUI ARRESTS ARE A COMMON PITFALL.

@TOEJAM All caps doesn't make you more persuasive.

It just makes most people immediately ignore you.

FYI.

As someone who had classes at Boise State with this guy I can personally attest there are few dumber, or with bigger egos...maybe Austin Pettis. I'm not at all surprised this is what he has come to.

This dude has mental problems. no way he has that much talent and throws it away as easily he has the last coupla years without the elevator not going all the way to the top. He needs an intervention of some sort b4 he does something really stupid and winds up losing his life to prison or death.

 @Samson61

 Samson61,

Titus Young DOES NOT HAVE MENTAL PROBLEMS. HE IS MERELY A YOUNG MALE WHO WAS PREVIOUSLY NOT USED TO HAVING ANYTHING. NOW, HE HAS MONEY AND FEELS INVINCIBLE. Samson61, WHY DO YOU THINK RETIRED NFL PLAYERS WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS ARE BANKRUPT? WHEN IT WAS "PARTY-TIME," THEY HAD SEVERAL FRIENDS AND A-L-W-A-Y-S "FOOTED THE BILL." THEY HAD NO CONCEPT - WHATSOEVER - OF MONEY MANAGEMENT. Mr. Young IS NOT THE FIRST - NOR, THE LAST - WITH THIS PROBLEM.

@TOEJAM   Is the caps button broken on your computer? Or are you just trying to be obnoxious? You realize as soon as people see you type in nothing but caps, they stop reading whatever it is you have to say.

@TOEJAM  @Samson61 Titus definitely has mental problems.  He thinks he is better than Calvin Johnson.  That's about as insane as it gets.

leehwgoc

@TOEJAM  @Samson61  'mental problems' in this case are a euphemism for 'spoiled man-child that his mommy didn't spank enough growing up'.

This stuff isn't complicated, bro.

Moron:

1: usually offensive : a person affected with mild mental retardation

2: a very stupid person

Hope he made enough in his brief career, but I'm sure we'll read about him trying to catch on with some sort of 4th rate football league here soon. So stupid.

This guy says he's better than Megatron?  I agree. He's better at being caught than catching.
