Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ hit in head with a line drive, taken off on stretcher

MLB

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ was struck in the head with a line drive and taken off the field on a stretcher during Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

With one out in the bottom of the second inning, Happ was drilled in the side of the head with a shot off the bat of Rays center fielder Desmond Jennings. The ball went down the right field line for a triple, with Jose Molina and Yunel Escobar scoring.

Happ, who was bleeding, was immobolized on a stretcher by medical personnel. He moved his arms and waved to the crowd as he was taken off the field. Happ signed a two-year, $8.9 million contract extension with the Jays on March 27 and had a 2-2 record with a 3.98 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 26/18 K/BB ratio in 31 2/3 innings coming into tonight’s game.

I hope A.J is ok as well. Being from Canada myself, are Canadian sport teams must get a good laugh at down in the U.S.

I know I laugh at them.... ))
