NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs have given left tackle Branden Albert’s agent permission to speak with the Miami Dolphins. But they have not permitted him to visit with the team, ESPN.com’s Chris Mortensen reported on Thursday. The Chiefs are considering trading Albert, and they gave Albert’s agent permission to help facilitate a trade for a second-round draft pick. Albert does not have permission to speak to other teams about a contract.

Albert, 28, has signed a franchise tender worth $9.82 million next season, but he has not participated in the Chiefs’ voluntary offseason program. He has expressed the desire for a long-term contract.
