Report: Okla. State’s Marcus Smart to return for sophomore year
Smart, a second-team All-American, was projected to be a top five pick had he made himself eligible for the NBA Draft. The school scheduled a press conference for Thursday when Smart will announce his plans for the future.
Smart was the Big 12′s player and freshman of the year this past season, when he averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game for the Cowboys.
“I have not made a decision yet,” Smart said yesterday, according to the Oklahoman. “I’m still talking with my parents, the team, Coach Ford, just trying to get some things situated and get more information to make my decision.”
In his last game, a second-round loss to Oregon in the NCAA Tournament, Smart scored 14 points (5-13 shooting), to go along with nine rebounds and four assists.
