Padres’ outfielder Carlos Quentin suspended eight games

MLB

San Diego Padres slugger Carlos Quentin has been suspended eight games for his involvement in the Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers brawl on Thursday night, according to Yahoo! columnist Jeff Passan. Quentin charged the mound after Zack Greinke hit Quentin with a pitch during last night’s game.

Greinke will undergo surgery to stabilize his left clavicle and he will miss up to eight weeks. Quentin was hit for the 116th time in his career in his left arm by a Greinke fastball in the sixth inning of Thursday’s night game.

Quentin told reporters after the game that he has a “history” with Greinke and the “situation could’ve been avoided.”

Eight games??? is that a joke??? eight games???

the “situation could’ve been avoided.” yeah right, but Quentin doesn't have the brains to realize he was the tying run at that point in the game and so just take first ... I wish it had been someone like Jonathan Broxton on the mound to see if Quentin didn't think twice about charging.
