Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson is recovering from a plantar fascia tear in his right heel and could be out for a couple of weeks.

Lawson suffered the injury March 19 in a 114-104 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder, causing him to miss four of the next five games.

Lawson leads Denver in scoring at 16.7 points a game and dishes out a team-leading 6.7 assists per contest for the Nuggets, who are 50-24 this season and have already clinched a playoff berth.

“I have a feeling that he had somewhat of a (partial) tear in his plantar fasciitis and that’s untreatable,” Nuggets head coach George Karl said to Nuggets.com. “But popping it creates a situation where now once the soreness goes away, he probably should be able to be pain-free. It could come in a couple weeks.

“His job and our job is to figure out how to get him feeling 100 percent and having some confidence playing the game of basketball. I think it’s a situation where it’s going to work out. I’m optimistic about how it’s going to work out.”

It had better ''work out,'' or the Nuggets are sunk...their running game is AWOL since he went down.  The Nuggets have locked down a playoff spot...now, they need to rest Lawson who, when healthy, makes Denver a scary team, home-court advantage, or not...
