The Arizona Cardinals cut quarterback John Skelton on Monday leaving open the possibility that the team will trade for a veteran or draft a quarterback in this month’s NFL Draft, the team announced.

Skelton threw for 1,132 yards with  two touchdowns and nine interceptions for the team last season after taking over for an injured Kevin Kolb. He went 1-5 as a starter in 2012.

Skelton was originally a fifth round pick in the 2010 Draft out of Fordham.  In three seasons, he had a 8-9 record as a starter throwing for 3,707 yards with 15 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.

The team now has Drew Stanton, Brian Hoyer and Ryan Lindley on their roster as quarterbacks.
