Report: Browns trade Colt McCoy to 49ers
The Browns will receive a fifth and seventh round pick for McCoy.
In three NFL seasons, McCoy is 6-15 as a starting quarterback for the Browns, and went 4-9 in 2011 when he won the job. He’s thrown for 21 touchdowns, 20 interceptions for 4,388 yards and has a career 74.8 quarterback rating. McCoy is scheduled to make $1.5 million next season because of escalators in his contract that raised his pay due to incentives reached in 2011.
McCoy lost the starting job last season when the team selected Brandon Weeden in the first round of the 2012 Draft. The team signed veteran quarterback Jason Campbell last month to backup Weeden, making McCoy expendable.
