 SaifRahman First of all. Vick did NOT do tile for all of him crimes. Due to a plea deal, we was never charged with animal cruelty, basically just interstate gambling. Second, there are lots of rules and rights in place to look out for humans when they get wronged/hurt/killed; there are essentially no rules or voices or rights for when animals get hurt or killed. I am that voice. And if you cannot understand that, then there's not much I can say to alter your reality..

 DanHagen I love dogs too Dan.  I think they what happened is wrong.  You are missing the point of what I am saying.  So i will ask you.  He did over 500 days in prison for crimes relating to what he did to the dogs.  What more would you like done to him for YOU to be satisfied?  I am merely asking at what point in time is his debt to society paid.  Personally, child killers like Casey Anthony are way worse, and you didn't even mention that.

 I'm not mentioning Anthony just as I'm not mentioning the hundreds of thousands of other people killed by hundreds of thousand of people. Your comparison holds no water. How can any specific discussion happen if you're going to say "yeah, but what about the children," or X never even went to jail?" One does not preclude the other, and your attempt to bring it up just gives light to a lack of argument.My point does not (or should it) include the whole world of "wrong."  My argument cuts across all issues and centers on this very simple fact: torturous killing. You can try to minimize, forgive, or generally spin it positive, slicing the blame pie any way you like, but there's no way I (and apparently a whole lot of similar-minded folks) can accept slowly TORTURING ANYONE OR ANYTHING TO DEATH. That is the worst of the worst. The magnitude of sheer premeditated torturous cruelty here; that is what sets this and Vick apartAnd to afford celebrity and some degree on ongoing admiration to this behavior?  DanHagen You are passionate about the cause, and that is admirable.  I love humans and animals alike.  I never said  I accepted, or approved the behavior he showed towards animals.  I just wondered at what point do we move forward. So I ask, what punishment would satisfy you Dan?

Evidently you didn't see the point I was trying to make, your just picking through peoples post looking for arguments, my argument I was trying to make was killing animals period, there is no such thing of killing for sport, or hunting regularly, animals shouldn't be killed period I don't care what kind or the cause is for, thats the point I was trying to make, wether he tortured them or not doesn't matter it's all wrong, just cause the bullet is killing them instantly still doesn't mean they deserve to die like that viciously, quit looking for the negative all the time and analyze the positives

 Yes, the prez is black and half the country hates him.  Well he doesn't HAVE to be doing anything with his free time now.  He did his time,  The fact that he's speaks to youths, etc. shows that the guy is coming from the heart.  He could take his football checks and kick back.  But whatever he does or does not do from here on out will never be good enough for haters like you.

 GaryHall  raidernation I do not like the President because he is condescending. but back to the statement you made I do not think it was a black or white statement, I believe that it was a point  you were trying to make about how people will not let this go.  He is and was a role model in the black community.  At first it was a bad role model now it is a good one that shows the black community what you can do with your life after you F$%* up big time.

 I do not see Jordan doing much to help the inner city youth, except selling his shoes at $ 300.

As for your avatar the largest mass killing in the world happened in Oslo and it is illegal to own automatic weapons.  If people want to kill they will no matter how many laws we pass.  This world has a mental health issue not a gun issue.

 Huh! Have you been reading my comments, you...ugh.  Listen, I know about racism, as all ethnic groups do. I played minor league ball for Atlanta in the early 80's, and one of the worst experiences I had was in the Appy league as the only African-American player in a hillbilly league for the Pulaski Braves ('82).  I don't condemn all whites, because there is good and evil in all groups. I'm defensive of Obama because I have never heard so many racists rants in my life as I did when he was first elected. And they WEREN'T all political, that 's a cop-out used by many.  From what I heard, you would have thought the man did something illegal just by even running!  But back to Vick, I think parents use athletes as role models way too much.  I'm of the Barkley school of thought: the real role models are at HOME!  Parents like make us believe athletes don't have a choice in the matter, but the truth is, if parents do their jobs at home, kids wouldn't be so wrapped up in athletes as role model.  Peace to you all.
