Cardinals sign Antoine Cason to one year deal

NFL

Antoine Cason has signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals. Cason, who started all 16 games for the Chargers last season,  should get around $2 million for the deal, plus incentives. The cornerback was selected 27th overall in the 2008 draft, when he was considered to be one of the top cornerbacks available.

The Cardinals have been bringing in free agents to fill their depleted secondary. Arizona added cornerback Jerraud Powers and safety Yeremiah Bell two days ago, and signed defensive end Matt Shaughnessy earlier today.

As soon as you realize that the Bidwell family fortune is all into this team, the sooner you will understand why they can't compete against wealthier owners.  It has been that way for the nearly 30 years the Cardinals have been in Tempe and Glendale since they bolted St. Louis for greener (financial) pastures.  They will field a team and will be managing the family dime so that it will not need to be moved somewhere else in the near term.  I think most of the family has homes in The Valley so are not really very interested in moving anyway.

The Birds just don't get it. Another year with the QB's running for their life and good Rb's getting crunched. With the Seahawks loading up, along with the 9ers,Cowboys it's going to be bleak at the "Silver Hamburger".
