Leon Washington tweets he’ll join Patriots
Running back/return specialist Leon Washington tweeted Thursday that he’s joining the Patriots.
Washington became a free agent after the Seahawks cut him. He was selected by the Jets in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
Washington has been a versatile performer whose career stats include 2,213 rushing yards, 1,127 receiving yards, 1,668 punt return yards and 6,315 kick return yards. His eight kicks returned for touchdowns tie him with Joshua Cribbs for the NFL record.
