Redskins’ Kirk Cousins gets random drug test at grandmother’s home
The NFL showed this week just how spontaneous its random drug testing policy can be.
The league apparently knew Kirk Cousins was visiting his grandmother on Wednesday. An NFL representative appeared at Cousins’ grandmother’s townhouse to issue him a test on the spot, according to a tweet from the Washington Redskins quarterback.
The rep reportedly issued him the cup for a urine sample and stayed with him in the bathroom.
The NFL has had a banned substance policy since 1987 and can perform random drug testing year round. Every player has to submit a urine sample at least once a year but is also subject to random testing.
NFL's off-season drug testing at my grandma's town-home! I'm all for a clean game but weird having a stranger watch u in your own bathroom—
