Wes Welker agrees to 2-year, $12 million deal with Denver Broncos

Former New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker has agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos according to a source via Albert Breer of NFL.com. Breer reported the deal is worth $12 million — more than the Patriots bid.
Broncos VP John Elway confirmed the two-year deal via Twitter.
Welker, 31, finished with a team-high 118 catches, 1,354 yards and six touchdowns in 2012. He also became the first NFL player to produce five 110-catch seasons in 2012, while averaging 112 receptions in his six seasons with the Patriots.
The Patriots reportedly opted to reduce their salary cap numbers among their receivers, including Welker.

Wes Welker's two-year deal is worth $12 million. Which is more than what New England offered.—

Let me do tweet 1 more time, with his name … The Patriots' final and only recent offer for Wes Welker was $10M over 2 years, w/incentives.—

Is there any chance the Patriots would care to comment on why they can pay him $9M last year, but aren't willing to give him $6M over the next two? I know that Brady is a big part of Welker's success, but do we have another Welker waiting in the wings???
