Former NFL quarterback Vince Young, who last played in the league in 2011 as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, is in “preliminary” talks with the Oakland Raiders about making a return to the field.
NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk.com cited a report Wednesday from Ian Rapaport of NFL Network that Young spoke with the Raiders about visiting them for a workout.
The Raiders currently have Carson Palmer and Terrelle Pryor as the quarterbacks on the roster, so it’s possible the latter could be replaced by Young but not much is known at this time as to the depth of the discussions between Young and the Raiders, beyond the fact that they simply spoke about possibly hosting the two-time Pro Bowler for a workout.
Young has not been in an NFL game since playing for the Eagles in the 2011 season. He was signed by the Buffalo Bills in May 2012 but was cut three months later.
