Report: Mariano Rivera may announce retirement for end of 2013 season

Mariano Rivera may announce his retirement for the end of this season, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney. The 43-year-old reliever is expected to make the announcement as early as Saturday. The news would set up a possible summer-long goodbye tour around the MLB, similar to Chipper Jones’s last season, after he made his retirement announcement in March.
Rivera had considered retiring after knee surgery ended his season last year, but decided to come back. The 12-time All-Star has spent his entire 18-year career with the Yankees and is the all-time saves leader in the MLB with 608.
It's an open secret that Mariano Rivera intends to retire, and that announcement figures to be very soon, perhaps Saturday.—

Rivera's retirement would come at the end of the 2013 season, whenever he chooses to announce it.—

I asked Rivera this spring if he would have retired last fall if he returned at end of 2012, and he indicated that would've been likely.—
