They'll probably laugh at him more for running such a horrible 40 time and blaming being "tired". Umm, yeah dude. So was everyone else I'm sure. Or maybe they'll bag on him for how his team got ROLLED in the championship game. B

Yeah sure Te'o will be the butt of some jokes, but come on... How old are Te'o jokes to everyone already?

I heard a sports talk show guy say something like " Te'o should bring an inflatable doll to where ever he is drafted". I guess , some thing to take the pressure off. No doubt, sure to be a distraction for a while.

If I were in Te'o's position, I'd crack jokes on myself.  Self-deprecation is the fastest and best way to get people to like you.  That's only if it's real though.  In his case it'll probably come off as his attempt to get people to like him.

With all the anti-bullying messages in the media these days, what does "laugh with us while we’re laughing at you" say to all the bullies and would-be recipient of bullying out there? Smith is the moron in this scenario.

He will get slaughtered in the clubhouse.  But if he produces in the field it will be good natured and his teammates will have his back more than anyone else.

If Teo were a real talent then he wouldn't have needed the "my girlfriend whom I've never met just died of some deadly disease" story to get his name in the paper. He and his team were exposed by Bama and got steamrolled. Even a synchophant like Herbstreet was flummoxed by it all. He'll have a 2 or 3 year career.

I would think the trash talk would be worse from your opponents on Sunday. But everyone gets teased about something, and there's a simple solution ... work your a*s*s off, play as hard as you can, and win. Nothing shuts up trash talk like the final numbers on the scoreboard.

There's a big difference between being ridiculed and being teased.  Busting on someone is different than criticizing them.  This journalist should quit his day job.

Sadly, the advice Smith puts forth to Te'o on this issue likely approximates the truth.  With that said, if that were me I'm supposed to sit around and simply grin while others are mercilessly pointing and ridiculing me (let's face it, many of the taunts will be intentionally hurtful and in no way meant to be simply fun) for at least the next couple years?  For someone who admittedly has never had much use for most other human beings my response to that is a simple one - F**K THAT!

Te'o will just pretend he didn't hear them.

Lazy reporting!! this started out this morning on Pro talk and was asked by Smith to Smith. It has made the rounds today on several sites, like it was news. They didn't bother to report the positive supportive responses by Suggs and the kicker from Indianapolis. By the time he gets to a team, I'm sure he knows he'll be teased. These are teachable moments. Estimate of other players(single) catfished 40%. NFL is investigated this and all prospective players and Social Media use. Nobody bothered to reported all the positive feedback Manti, Peterson, Pagano, etc got at the Maxwell Award Banquet. For those interested there is a Video on ESPN3. Thousand attendees gave standing ovations before and after Manti spoke. His Mom and Sister were in tears in the Audience. Sad that Sports New writers and Casters select only the negative things to report. Over 300 at the Combine and 90 free agents. Some good and bad news. Let's have a balanced reporting.

Teo will be fine. He is talented and once he gets on the field and his instincts kick in he will be very good. He will be a Pro-bowler within 3 years.
